Juliana is getting a bit bored with her life and joins a newly formed book club for the love of books and meeting new people. And also because the first book on their list is all about dating. She looks forward to her dates with Aaron, her new boyfriend, and her meetings with her new friends. But the reading group is just a front for something more sinister, and before Juliana knows it she is deep down in dark secrets she cannot pull herself out of if she is to save her friend Bess. And Aaron is [...]

I don't like writing bad reviews so I tried to give this book the best one I could. I encountered far too many problems. First and foremost the book needed editing, (For example: Present Perfect in the same sentence with Past Simple). Then I could not understand how modern, so-called decent people would succumb to Traci and Alyssa's treachery. Drunken Bess is filmed by her friend, Julianna while having sex with a stranger I found to be shocking. Nowhere on the cover or anywhere else in the book [...]

A book club for women has its first meeting. Their first book is a book on dating. Julianna and Bess meet and soon become friends. Bess drinks a little too much and acts silly. Julianna is quieter but also silly. They are placed in a group with Traci and Alyssa. The scam is set up.Traci suggests that they film each others' dates to critique with the book club afterward. Julianna is dating Aaron, so her date is filmed. Traci disrupts the date and is mean about it. Traci and Alyssa say cruel thing [...]

Women get together for a book club unknown to them that the person who formed it is the head of a sexual blackmail ring. Really??? Yes, because all women who read books are secretly starving for attention and latent sluts that can't think for themselves. The BFF's in this book get involved with a woman they just met and end up having sex with men who are strangers. There are date rape drugs involved. When they realize what they have been lured into they are so embarrassed that they don't go to t [...]

Good story with lots of twists and turns; suspenseful, fast-moving, and a bit disturbing. What better way to spend a winter's evening than to be drawn into a book and not let go? I only wish that the editing was a bit tighter. But then again, I'm always on the prowl for errant grammar, relevant word-usage and punctilious punctuation.I am grateful to author Joanie Chevalier and the Firstreads program for having provided a free copy of this book. Their generosity did not, however, influence this [...]

I read a copy of this book to give it an honest review. Deadly Dating Games by Joanie Chevalier is truly an exciting read if you're a fan of mystery and thrills. The prologue opens up with a dead man tied to a bed and an unknown woman looking at him. After that we get to know about the female characters that make up the book club that soon finds itself in a lot of trouble. Every female character has a distinct personality and the group doesn't get dull. I liked Julianna as a character. She's shy [...]

From the get go, I was deeply hooked in this story. So much so that my Kindle died on me and then had to finish on my phone. This story is very well written and the twists and turns of this book had me on the edge of my seat. And then when the revelation came, OMG, I never saw that coming. The story follows four women: Julianna, Bess, Traci and Alyssa, who have come together to start a "book club". However, Julianna and Bess soon fine out that there is much more than meets the eye with the other [...]

Like the leading lady Julianna, I had no idea where the story was going until it was too late to turn back! Perhaps there's a moral here about choosing wisely the company you keep and if there is then it probably suggests that when you see red flags go up you follow your intuition and cut and run before things get out of hand, which it certainly does in this unpredictable story full of twists and turns.

This book reads like an episode of women behaving badly.A book club takes a turn for the worse. The only thing that bothered me a bit was I questioned why some of the women went so willingly with the devious plan. One thing is for sure I will never be visiting any dating websites. #####I won this book through in exchange for an unbiased review####

A Terrific Gripping StoryThe author has done it again, writing a page-turning thriller with authentic and well-developed characters, terrific dialogue, intriguing plots and descriptive locales. The backdrop is San Francisco, where single women meet at a book club to review an online dating guide, but when antagonist Traci decides to try something innovative using new members Julianna and Bess, what starts out as a enjoyable assignment begins to slowly takes on an ominous turn, leading to jealous [...]

This is a difficult review for me to write, as I am a man, reviewing what is essentially a women's novella. I did not particularly enjoy reading it, as I had a difficult time relating to the characters, especially the way they were at each others' throats one minute and seemingly friends the next. Not being a woman, I don't know whether this is how women interact or not.The story revolves around two women who create a phony "book club" in order to attract lonely, attractive, single women whom th [...]

It ain’t easy looking for love! Deadly Dating Games offers something for all. It nicely blends suspense, romance, thriller, crime, and intrigue to tantalize the pickiest reader. I bonded quickly with the introvert Julianna who attends a new book club meeting because she simply wants to meet new people and pick up a good book to read. She instantly likes Bess who is lovely and well-built and then finds herself scooped up by a cougar-type woman who has more on her mind than meeting the right man [...]

Overall, it was a nice book that if the writer elaborated more on that this book could be a great book. I enjoyed the book overall. Just a few unanswered questions that I wished were answered. Maybe if this was a series or even another standalone book to accompany this book. It would garner a higher rating. But, as for now it is 3/5 stars.

A group of women find themselves inexplicably caught up in crimes against unsuspecting males. The women have to find a way to extricate themselves from the trouble they are in before anyone else turns up dead. This is an easy read, is well constructed with characters you can relate to. The question lingers about Aarons presence and where he fits in.

Innocent women believe they are joining a book club, when, instead, they are slowly drawn into a dark world of deceit, blackmail and murder, one small step at a time until it is too late to save themselves. The story jumps a bit and the characters are not completely drawn; one is bumped off needlessly for the story line, but in the end, the good guy and the lost girl find themselves again.
